Dr. Helmut Nold got his PhD. in Psychology in 1993 with the subject ”Occupational safety and health psychology – Factors of safe and health behavior and Motivation to work safety“. He has been working for the German Social Accident Insurance Institution since 1988 in various areas such as stress prevention, ergonomics, health management. He is presently working in the Competence Center ”Healthcare, Medicine, Psychology” of the BG RCI (The Employer's Liability Insurance Association for Raw Materials and the Chemical Industry).

He is involved in various international projects about occupational safety and health with Pakistan and Tanzania. He is also involved in a collaboration with the German Institute of Management and Organization about the Challenges and Demands of the new German Supply Chain Act.
